Back in the days when IMDb forums were up, I have noticed that horror movies fans community had above average IQ if compared to other mainstream forums. I wonder why. Was unable to find any research related to this phenomenon.

Based on what?

I talked to them. They were mainly well versed people. About 90%. I have met way more idiots on mainstream movie forums. What's more interesting, no trolls.

Oh, so you used a scientific method to determine they have a high IQ...

How do you define someone's IQ just by discussing with them online?

Well, manly because they know about the conspiracy and don't trust the government.

Anyone that feels excitement or fear from a horror movie is a fucking moron. What kind of stupid shit gets scared from fake spooky stuff?

You are right about supernatural bullshit. Sci-Fi horror like Alien or The Thing are pretty exciting.

The Thing was down right fucking horrible. Why on the ever loving fuck do people like that shit show of a movie?

So what's a good movie in your eyes? Four Weddings and a Funeral?

I am a "horror" fan, but I don't consider it scary or horror more like an otherworldly trip in movie form, or a strange physiological thriller. I am talking about films like The Beyond and In The Mouth of Madness though.

I never cared for "jump out and scare you" stuff because 9000 is right after the age of ~12 who actually gets scared from a movie?

In The Mouth of Madness is quite intelligent.

Haven't seen the other one.

I think there are a lot of high grossing horror movies and franchises, so if the majority of the masses are fans how can there IQ also be high? Plus the scripts and acting are very low cerebral in my opinion.
