Back in the days when IMDb forums were up, I have noticed that horror movies fans community had above average IQ if compared to other mainstream forums. I wonder why. Was unable to find any research related to this phenomenon.

I am a "horror" fan, but I don't consider it scary or horror more like an otherworldly trip in movie form, or a strange physiological thriller. I am talking about films like The Beyond and In The Mouth of Madness though.

I never cared for "jump out and scare you" stuff because 9000 is right after the age of ~12 who actually gets scared from a movie?
