Back in the days when IMDb forums were up, I have noticed that horror movies fans community had above average IQ if compared to other mainstream forums. I wonder why. Was unable to find any research related to this phenomenon.

You are right about supernatural bullshit. Sci-Fi horror like Alien or The Thing are pretty exciting.

The Thing was down right fucking horrible. Why on the ever loving fuck do people like that shit show of a movie?

So what's a good movie in your eyes? Four Weddings and a Funeral?

I am a "horror" fan, but I don't consider it scary or horror more like an otherworldly trip in movie form, or a strange physiological thriller. I am talking about films like The Beyond and In The Mouth of Madness though.

I never cared for "jump out and scare you" stuff because 9000 is right after the age of ~12 who actually gets scared from a movie?

In The Mouth of Madness is quite intelligent.

Haven't seen the other one.

It's wild visually and musically, pretty gory at parts but really good. I first saw it on my Dad's descrambler box when I actually was ~12 haha.

I think it had an X-rating back then, as they did that to some non-porn films instead of just leaving them unrated like today. A Clockwork Orange, for example.
