There isn't a driver shortage. The mega carriers have been screaming driver shortage for the last couple of decades because they can't retain drivers. If anything, drivers are all over this market because freight is paying more than ever.

It's just like any other industry. They are trying to make it appear that there's a shortage so they can hire cheap labor from 3rd world countries.

Now I can't get fuel without some Somolian nigger blocking the fuel island because he doesn't know how to back a trailer into a spot to take his 30 minute break.

Would an aggravated speeding ticket prevent someone from obtaining a CDL? That's not only the most serious thing on my driving record, it's the only thing.

You can absolutely still get your CDL. Which companies will hire you is a different story. Commercial truck insurance is much higher than your run of the mill auto insurance and increases heavily with infractions. So some companies won't touch you depending on how recent it is.

What were you doing? 30 over?

With that said, there are plenty of second chance companies you could drive for. The pay isn't going to be anywhere close to what you will peak at but you won't have to stay there long granted you keep a clean driving record and it will still be better pay than most people straight out of college.

If you're considering getting your CDL, go ahead and do it because you basically have to "pay your dues" by working for one of those companies anyway to get some experience under your belt. Within a year or two, you can go damn near anywhere and make $80,000+/yr. GP Transco is starting at $90,000/yr with 1 year experience for example and most LTLs are paying 6 figures while also being able to go home every night.

When you take the written test, get every endorsement you can. Tankers, doubles (triples depending on where you live/drive) hazmat, etc. If you want, I'll PM you an app for study that has the question/answer bank word for word.

That's the best part of a CDL. I can quit my job today, another company will already have me a car rented and hotel booked for orientation Monday, and pay me for coming.

Edit: Also, not sure how long ago it happened, but most companies only look back 3-5 years. You can even get a CDL with a DUI on your record. If you have two DUIs, you aren't allowed to have a CDL anymore. Supposedly there is a process that you could possibly still obtain one but it sounds like a literal act of Congress from what I've read.

As someone who's just started in the Industry i can confirm every bit of your statement

When did you get your CDL? It's damn good money if you figure this bullshit out. I wish I would have done it sooner.

Beginning of the year

Paid by the mile is a scam and people can make more doing entry level construction jobs. You don't get paid for your pre and post trip inspections, you don't get paid for when you need to fuel, and you make less in shitty weather because you can't cover as many miles in the same time you can in good weather. There's a fellow on YouTube who broke it down, and while he did make alot of money in his 3 years of driving it boiled down to less than $7 per hour. I was lucky to land a driving job hauling hazmat that pays hourly with overtime, and it's more of a drive and sit scenario where I'm mostly posted up at job site for a couple days to weeks raking in the cash. I would not trade it for OTR in any circumstance, especially paid by the mile jobs.

The global currencies are being reset.

The IMF is going to take over the allocation of new currency values (after the old currencies are demolished) based on each nation's "assets" with China being highly favorable. It will be a new SDR-based system.

The Climate Summit is the planning committee for how to fund their new global governance to replace national governance (no such thing as fucking climate change).

America's economy is imploding due to the bankers extracting every last bit of wealth out of this nation and fucking us all over. America's production is being destroyed so that we can't compete on an equal footing globally.

They have to play out these fake stories of "shortages" and "covid" so that the American people won't blame the banker fucks who created all of this mess.

Stop watching the news and start researching the Petrodollar, Israel+Saudi Arabia, the IMF, Special Drawing Rights, China's voting rights and relationship to the IMF in recently years, etc. They are keeping Americans stupid with the news.

Jewsph Xiden is simply a puppet being used to figurehead the downfall of the USSA and most of the world.

The largest portion of Clearinghouse violations are for marijuana use, or 56 percent of violations. Amphetamine and methamphetamine violations account for 18 percent, while cocaine and various opioids account for 15 percent and 4 percent.

It sounds like they knew about the problem for a while. They called it "Clearinghouse".

There isn't a shortage. This horseshit just came out to help shift blame away from Biden for the supply chain collapse. Drivers are at the ports waiting for 7+ hours to get loaded.

They are lined up all the way from the port's entrance to the interstate.

I'd bet my paycheck that the article you quoted that from said something along the lines of "80,000 drivers failed their drug tests and the large majority fail to follow through with the programs provided to get them back on the road." Yeah. 80,000 may have failed. That's a number that accounts for all drivers in the country since Clearing House has been a thing. It is a very small fraction of all drivers especially when you include new drivers just beginning in the industry.

How does the drug testing work? I live in Illinois, a recreational/medicinally legal state and smoke some pot before bed because it helps me fall asleep. I could easily stop doing that, but at the same time...it does help me fall asleep.

It doesn't matter if it's legal in your state when it comes to commercial drivers license because its federally regulated. A lot of guys are getting popped for CBD oil from what I hear. If you work for a company, you'll be piss or hair tested during hiring. Then companies have to test some percentage of their drivers randomly each year. And by random, I mean you could be out on the road 18 hours from the terminal and they'll call you and give you and address to go take a drug test at.

Drivers won't be allowed to smoke until they can test if you're high at the time.

I'd smoke too but it isn't worth losing my career. If you get in an accident with it in your system, you don't just get fired, you go to jail.

Do they covid test or require vax though?

I work for (one of the largest global shipping brands everyone's heard of) and, believe it or not, at no point have I been asked to wear a mask let alone get vaxed or tested.

I figured. Truckers have always been in demand. I had a friend who couldn't get a job as a trucker. He went and completed the course and everything and found out no one would hire him due to his criminal background. I was like how is that possible? I always thought many truckers were ex-cons. He said you have to have at least 6 or 7 years of not being arrested.

That's the problem isn't it?
