20% of all the most talented workers at a company do 80% of the actual resulting achievements and labor.
I bet the socialist leeches that took big huge payout resignations did it for the immediate short term money, and their laziness socialist half-wit lack of skill will not be missed at all.
The PRODUCERS always support the CONSUMER LEECHES at engineering oriented companies.
IQ is genetic and unfair and it enrages the socialist leeches who screech "TOO MUCH MERITOCRICY! Reeeeeee! MERITOCRICY is WHITE PRIVILEDGE! Reeeeeeeeeee!"
BASEcamp is BASED!

niggers and female make shitty coders, and the left is enraged that "coders be too White"
Getting rid of agitating DEAD WOOD at a tech company improves morale and improves production.
I looked up their careers page and they currently have no openings. No idea who quit, but they don't seem to be in a rush to replace them.
Or they already did. Despite the media making it sound like they were having a panic attack from the exodus, it was probably a lot less exciting. The more likely answer is that they greatly expedited and condensed the interview process, and got a new wave of employees. There are always people tripping over each other to apply for jobs like this; that combined with employee referrals of people they knew, and I'm sure HR had a relatively easy time finding solid replacements.
Actually... a super-star engineer coder takes 7 to 11 months to fully recruit sometimes, and months of salary negotiations. I am NOT shitting about the 11 months wooing max end.
They obviously lost zero super-star engineer coders.
Very high IQ superstar engineers are very very hard to steal away from their current jobs and are rarely looking on the job market. Headhunters work hard to locate these hard to find and recruit heavy hitters. Headhunters get one third the value of first 12 estimated months salary if the top tier guru programmer works for MORE than 90 days without quitting. Headhunters are either skilled or totally 100% retarded. There is no in-between. If you or some comapny pays you the $1,500 dollars to go to a SINGLE day at Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC), or Apple WWDC, twenty high end recruiters dreaming of finding a new polo pony to sell will all scramble to ask you for your business card or contact info while you snack, walk around, or wait in line for the total shit food microsoft or apple calls food.
WinHEC has two recruiters and two sales managers for every attending engineer : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Hardware_Engineering_Conference
Apple WWDC has a higher percent of engineers, mainly because half the tickets are taken by apple engineers, who hate being recruited because they all have vesting stock options tying them to apple. Only the very smartest leave apple, usually in waves of 6 at a time the same week, to form new startups. hundreds of startups were formed by people quitting apple at the same time. It is ILLEGAL to hire away apple engineers by ex apple engineers AFTER a week elapses due to california contract law of what employees of apple sign, they have to all just by happenstance quit together.
That's also possible. Remote tech jobs are in high demand right now.
After reading through the entire article I don't think the split is as clear-cut as that.
- Fried started with good intentions but tried to make everyone happy, arriving at the Friday meeting
- Singer pretty much called out Critical Race Theory for what it was, and stated he doesn't believe it exists at the company
- Fried remained neutral in response, pissing off a lot of employees
- An anonymous employee had the last word in response: "The silence in the background is what racism and white supremacy does. It creates that atmosphere that feels suffocating to people. It doesn’t require active malice. It’s not that convenient."
- Meeting ends
- Fried does a 180: Suspends Singer and brings in "unspecified outside 'help' to address the situation"
- Singer quits over the weekend, as does 1/3 of the employees.
So I think what ended up happening was: - Fried's spine gave out and he let CRT and other marxist ideologies creep in and do its damage. I wouldn't be surprised if ADL jumps all over this to seal the fate of the company. - Singer held his frame and took it with him when he left. He has skill & experience, so it will be interesting to see where he goes next. - I imagine some employees left because they were virtue signalling, annoyed that Fried first supported Singer, while others likely left to follow Singer. - Likewise, I bet some of the employees that stayed did so because they're opportunists that see a gap to fill with more CRT and shit, while others stayed because they just don't care and want to write code. - Fried isn't going to hire anyone else in a hurry until their outside "help" comes in to rewrite company policies and to make sure the replacement is a full blown Marxist. Anything less and the whiners will whine that they have no safe space.
Basecamp is now a sinking ship.
The work at these big tech companies (I've been with a few), gets divided in a way that is not readily noticeable to team members. I have seen companies arrange diverse groups in areas where management and visitors traffic, and then have other teams hidden away - usually on other floors. So, they're also physically separated from each other. While they have the same job titles, the work itself can be very different. They've promoted almost solely from that diversity group, so I'm not sure current management at these companies is even aware that it's setup this way. Likely, difficult problems get routed "somewhere" in the company, and solved as if by magic - then they get incorporated into the diversity teams projects.
20% of the workers steal the credit. Leeches are less common than you think. Some times experiments and trials fail. It's not glorious, but it is necessary.
Who puts in more effort? The engineering team that build the product, or the sales guy that sweet talked the nepotistic hired client to buy a load of shit he doesn't need? If you go by salary, it looks like the salesman is working harder.
