I don't know, maybe it's because the government and NASA regularly lie about stuff, or that Copernicus was a Jesuit, the math doesn't seem to work, no one's allowed to explore Antarctica without "permission," or they've never been able to discern it for themselves?

TBH, I'm sort of agnostic about the shape of the earth, but the above points do have some validity to them. Unfortunately, those same concerns make it easy pickins for a psyop.

When you can see farther than trigonometry should allow, when you constantly catch NASA fabricating their live streams, when you find live housefly's on the "mars rover". When you can overlay images of Devon Island canada with Red filters and it matches the "mars" pictures its hard NOT to start questioning things. Go ahead and someone prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the earth is round. I love watching people's heads explode as they slowly realize they have absolutely 0 objective evidence proving that its round and they have been indoctrinated since birth into believing they live on infinitesimal speck and they don't matter. GOD IS REAL. Who knows if its a christian god but the only reasonable reason I can come up with for them wholesale lying about the shape of the earth is to dissuade from the fact that there is a divine creator of some sort.

Dude, we're on the same page, and your last two sentences were my biggest reason for doubt. For me, I live about 240 miles south of Mt. Baker Washington, and I have seen that mountain from where I live. Not the top, the entire mountain, as well as the land beyond it (Canada). This is where my firsthand experience made me doubt the math. At that distance, according to the math, the TOP of that mountain, which stands at 10,781 feet, should have been hidden by over 27,619 feet of "curvature." Now I was on a hill that is at 1600 feet, so I'll take that into account, but even with that subtracted, the top still should have been 13,539 feet below the horizon.

Beyond that, no I don't believe we went to the moon, or that there is anything man made on something called Mars. I have also done the moonlight/sunlight experiment with candles and IR thermometers and seen for myself that the characteristics of those two light sources are completely opposite.

I was super anti flat earth, saying that it's complete BS etc...until like 2 weeks ago. I looked into it for shits and gigs. The things that really stand out are the curvature experiments and the airplane flight patterns that do not follow a round earth trajectory.

That and the whole no ones allowed to go to Antarctica thing. Blantant doctored NASA footage. Some shit just doesn't add up.

It's fun to look into and think about, but at the end of the day, whatever shape the earth is doesn't change how I sleep at night.

Owen benjamin a high iq concert pianist and comedian was going to debate a well known flat earthen. He was bragging how he would destroy him...

But.... he did what you did.. he said one month he would do a live debate... the closer it got the more he started doubting. A year later he was a guest speaker at a flat earth convention in Dallas totally supporting flat earth.

The curvature thing bugs me...airplane pilots would need to keep the stick slightly forward, all the time, to fly around a 'globe'. If they kept the stick rock-steady and the wings level (they do), they would fly off into space. It seems that flying straight and level, keeping the height steady (say 5000 feet or whatever) means they are flying over a relatively flat firmament.

I posted in Q explaining a few of the mechanics.

The core evolutionary reasoning for the existence of these psychological flaws in our brains probably lies in the fact that our genes only care about surviving and not about being right. Our genes don't care how they survive, as long as they get to copy them selves. If that means believing a bunch of bullshit, so be it.

The jump from that statement to why our brains cannot get them selves out of intellectual cul de sacs goes something like this:

  • Millions years ago humans traded off high levels of independence and body strength for high levels of compliance and very specific increases in our mental abilities.

If you look at a chimp, you can't really tell a chimp what to do and how to do it. Here is an experiment that shows that a chimp will just do what it wants and get the prize but humans don't understand that they can just get the prize and just follow orders:

Most people don't fully appreciate to the degree humans are behaviourally compliant. You can get people to self organize in lines just by putting out velvet ropes. Once you start to see it, its REALLY bizarre.

So, we exchanged behavioural independence for high levels of compliance. We also exchanged our body strength for high levels of intellect. But, we did not get smarter in every way possible. We only got smarter in some ways, but we also lost a HUGE amount of our intelligence in this exchange. For example, not only are chimps 6 times stronger than us, they have specific memory capabilites that are 6 times better than us. Here is an experiment where chimps can demonstrate memory that is at least twice, if not more, better than ours:

Basically, what seems to have happened is that we went through an evolutionary exchange that allowed us to succeed by accessing the benefits of network effects by selecting out individuals that cannot do high levels of organized collaboration for those that can.

One thought on the evolutionary mechanism that drives this is that we are a genocide species. We spend all of our time killing other humans and in order to kill other humans you have to be able to form war parties. In a war party you need absolute and total behavioural compliance and submission to the group in order to survive. Any war party that is made up of any members that are highly indpendent and go against the leadership of the group will be killed off along with the group.

So, what you get is a kind of persistence of belief. Our psychology has a locking mechanism where once we figure out a pattern that works, we lock it in because it is the mechanism that is required by war parties. This is the mechanism by which allows our genes to survive because those with the locking mechanism got to procreate and those that were independent got killed off. It doesn't matter if those beliefs are true or not, just that they allow your genes to copy them selves.

With respect to why people believe in flat earth, big foot and aliens, well I mean I don't actually believe most of them believe it. But those that do believe, believe it for the same reasons as white people believe in christianity and other nonsense, we are designed to do so.

We have no natural predators. When our common ancestors effectively exited being prey animals and started dominating their local geographies through highly networked highly intelligent and highly aggressive organized tribes, our biggest threats became other groups of humans.

Simultaneously, our easiest access to resources and females became other human groups. If you were smart enough to only kill the leaders and enslave the rest you were way better off than other tribes, but you had to get your economics right because you could not have enough slaves that could overthrow your tribe.

We split off from all the chimps (including bonobos) last around x million years ago. We split off from our common ancestor shared with gorillas many many millions of years before we split off form chimps. Chimps, like us, practice organized genocide:

Outside of us and all the chimp primates (including bonobos, they are as horrible as plains chimps), we are the only species that preys on its own kind in an organized fashion. All gangland activities even amongst the lowest iq species of human are killings of other humans. Higher order predatory behaviour is always against other humans. It is literally all we do all the time.

There is no intellectual reason to watch or talk about sports, its an utterly pointless excercise. Until you realize that genocide is so deeply built into our dna that sports are ritualized warfare practice. Men play sports as a ritualized form of warfare practice. Men watch ritualized sports warfare practices so they can examine strategy and then discuss war strategy after the ritualized warfare games. Men have entire parts of our brains dedicated to these behaviors.

And what is the purpose of warfare? We haven't been prey animals for at least 50 million years, you don't need to practice warfare against llamas or any animal, we are way smarter than any other species on the planet.

I'm not there completely but I've watched videos...

  1. If the earth circumference is what we are told and their is an 8 inch drop per mile? Then we shouldn't be able to see some of the stuff out in the ocean and we can.

  2. San antonio to Las Vegas is 2 and half hours there and back.. at 30k feet the globe people expect me to believe the atmosphere is still moving at the same speed and some how transferring the speed to the airplane even though the earth surface is moving 1000 mph? Just doesn't logically add up
