I've been looking at this Sonu Sleep mattress. Made in America. It has a channel in it for your arm to go if you sleep on your side (like me).

I wake up in pain and have to roll over 6 times a night from sleeping on my shoulder. I have tried sleeping on my back but then I just can't fall asleep and if I do end up in the middle of the night on my back then I wake up with my woman throwing an elbow into me to start breathing again. I have tried cpap, can't sleep with it.

So, anyone heard of this? It gets pretty expensive with the fitted sheets and everything but they have a decent sale going on the next few days.

I went with a no name memory foam mattress and am pleased with it. No arm groove.

My secret to fixing shoulder pain was to stop putting the pillow between my shoulder and face. That was really torquing my shoulder.

I did rip off one of my kids squashmellows which I've found to be the perfect accessory pillow to fill in any gap. She's never getting it back.

She will be on Reddit. I have failed as a father.

Oooohhhhhh,,, yes, that is a fail. I used to have reddit, but I got over that shit and deleted my account. Hopefully she will see the light one day.

Can’t help you with this. I have some of the same issues with sleep position. Good luck

I've been dealing with the pain for years, this looks good to me but I would hate to spend 3K and it's a gimmick.

I do see that they have a 100 night trial period though. Says if you don't want it they will take it back and issue a full refund. That makes it more interesting.

Used the Purple matress for 8 years. Really liked it. Switched and got an Earthfoam after we lost the purple one in a house fire. Earthfoam firm with medium topper was good for us. Interesting to hear about this arm channel thing... no idea if that would work or not.

It's definitely got my attention!

I read into it more. It has some pretty terrible reviews on reddit. Take that for what it's worse and it was from a few years ago. But most people saying it ended up causing a lot mote strain and pressure on their neck..

They kind of address that on their website that you must have proper pillows and the thing that drops into the slot for good head and neck support. I also really like that 100 night risk free trial. If you haven't gotten problems by then I would think you would be good.

That sounds questionable. How do you move around during the night, or does it just lock you into one position for 6-8 hours?

I think the idea is to give you such comfort that you quit tossing and turning and actually get a full nights sleep. That's the dream anyway.

People claim it's good for side sleepers with shoulder pain, but I have no first hand knowledge. They are expensive as #@@$.

About 3 grand. I looked at a couple other brands and they were twice that!! The Dux bed starts at like 6K and goes up to 30!!

Let me know how it goes. My left shoulder (preferred side for sleeping) started aching earlier this year. I know there's a pillow that kind of does the same thing as the mattress you described too. Going to try some physical therapy before investigating new "hardware" though.

I have tried the pillows. They do make you more comfortable but they do not take away the underlying cause of my shoulder pain. I'm still lying on my shoulder. This thing fully kitted out is just over 3 grand. Therapy could exceed that pretty quickly and often a therapist will recommend the new equipment anyway!!

Never heard of this arm channel thing. It sounds like you need firmer pillows.

I have a Helix mattress and I'm very happy with it.

I really like my current mattress, it is great. Except the shoulder pain. My pillows are nice too. I am a side sleeper and I wake up at least 5 or 6 times every night with shoulder pain. I'm really tired of it!

Had the same problem even after I got the new mattress. Firmer pillows solved it for me. Hope a new mattress works for you. It's a not a fun thing to live with.

I prefer those "foam" style mattresses. I do have the side sleeping issue too, they are better than the ones with springs in my opinion though. Good Luck!

I have a real nice mattress, I love everything about it. Except the shoulder pain!

Been buying no name foam, I'm done, now saving for a McRoskey. Still stitched and flippable. My Parents had a Duxianna, they swore by. I'd rather give to an American company. There are arm pillows (amazon.com) I'd try before the special bed.

I have heard good things about the Dux bed as well but they start out at about 6 grand and go up to 30!!!! No way, plus, as you said, they are not American made. McRoskey is cool for the handmade angle but incredibly expensive as well.

I've tried the arm pillows, they make sleeping more comfortable but still don't take the pressure off the shoulder. I still wake up in pain many times every night.
