There seem to be so many "miraculous" stories out there of people who've defied the medical industry and recovered from serious conditions only to not be believed down the track. I was wondering if there are people here on poal who can share their own medical remedies that have worked for them.

I'm convinced that 95% of our western society's medical issues are related to (1) excessive sugar and (2) excessive grains. Our bodies are not designed for so much sugar (in any form) and processed grains.

Paleo/Keto/low-carb diets are a game changer.

I've got a couple older family members that are "type 2 diabetics". Neither require medication because they keep themselves bone thin; extremely low body fat.

(If the FDA was really interested in our health, they would cut off the grain and corn subsidies. But, that's a different conversation.)

[–] 11 pts

Also parasites that we dont treat or test for and go undetected.

[–] 2 pts

Besides Toxoplasmosis, what else are you saying goes untreated / undetected?

[–] 0 pt

Is taking ivermectin able to kill them?

[–] 1 pt (edited )

Btw grains are sugars Wholegrain been healthier than white us also a complete lie. Humans cannot digest fibre that makes a grain whole. Ie no different to processed

[–] 1 pt

How about all the people who think each sugar is different. Refined sugar bad, stevia and other weird shit good.

It’s all a sugar and a carb, it doesn’t matter.

[–] 0 pt

Exactly. There are sugars we cannot digest. There are sugars we can but divided into hard to digest and easy to

[–] 1 pt

excessive carbs

You are correct.

95%

You are incorrect. Try 99%. But yes.

[–] 2 pts

Try 99%

Try not talking out of your ass.

[–] 0 pt

Do you think it's grain specifically or how they are modified by companies?

[–] 1 pt

I'm FAR from an expert, so take what I say with skepticism:

One expert (MD, I don't remember his name at the moment) I read a few years ago suggested that the western 'high grain' diet is causing a baseline gut inflammation in the bulk of the population. (I.e. All grains are bad.) That some people experience it more severely (gluten allergies, etc.) and others with just weight gain, etc.

I'm 75% convinced my mild arthritis is caused by my grain consumption, but it isn't bad enough (yet) for me to go cut out all of the grains in my diet.

This guy commented that we (Europeans) have only really begun to consume grains heavily / daily for the last ~500 years. Before that, the bulk of the population was more rural and there was more consumption of wild greens, fruits, fish, animals, etc. The growth of industry resulted in the growth of cities. And cities are hard to feed without grains.

BUT ... it really wasn't until the sugar levels in our food went up and the heavy GMO work in the last ~75 years have we started seeing a major shift in the health of the population. (W.r.t. a broad view of obesity and related health problems.)

You can get life without bread and the German doctor explains you don’t need carbs and if you do less then 72 from all sources and you’ll slow aging, stop disease etc. he has studies he conducted for years in the book.

[–] 0 pt

I do know the grains we have today are significantly different from the ones our ancestors ate. Maybe in the quest to gain more calories per acre we lost something important.

[–] 1 pt

Our diet requires exactly 0% of our diet to be grains or carbs

My psoriasis went away by using iodine. I thought I was in for cortisone shots and life time meds... bought a higher concentration of iodine after reading about it. After a week, it crusted over and looked horrifying then peeled off to reveal beautiful healed skin underneath.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks for sharing, I need to look into this.

[–] 3 pts

they put iodine in tablesalt in the supermarket, so people think they are getting it because 'its in the salt' and 'americans eat way to much salt' there for it should be a none issue, but it is not added to restraut salt, fast food salt, factory salt for processed pre packaged food, or sea salt, or any of the seasoning plus salt mixtures, so we really don't get much iodine at all.

[–] 0 pt

Honestly I had no idea, I appreciate it sir. Admittedly, I eat too much takeout. I'll look into table salt but may see what supplements are available. Not sure if you have any recommendations on that front?

[–] 1 pt

Topically or orally?

[–] 2 pts

Topically. Lugols 46%

I've been reading that book The Iodine Crisis and plan on starting an oral regimen.

[–] 0 pt

I recommend anally

[–] 8 pts

Well, yeah. When you're a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

[–] 0 pt

This is amazing. When I was a kid my mum and grandma would put iodine on everything. Have a cut? Iodine. Have a rash? Iodine. Have a bruise? Iodine. It's a much overlooked wonder.

[–] 0 pt

Lugol’s solution?

Sure plenty...let's start with the fad of Covid 19 for people with underlying health issues.

I had high blood pressure, asthma, and diabetes. Took care of Covid 19 at home with a nebulizer, prednisone I had on hand, diet tonic water, sardines daily, melatonin daily, elderberry and zinc. I am no longer classified as having high blood pressure since going on the keto diet (also when Covid hit) although I do still have diabetes.

Then in 2003 I was told I had leukemia. I had leukemia as a child (1980's) and had a bone marrow transplant. Back then it was 10k to get it done. (Believe it or not that as a godly sum when they first started doing them) I was 23 and they told me my bone marrow transplant suddenly failed. I didn't believe them because I was on a very long course of steroids that was high for the better part of a year. They argued most transplant recipients are on similar courses. I was being pressured to get chemo, so much so I was required to get psycho therapy. (They thought I was suicidal) I was pregnant though and wanted to wait until the birth of my child before I took any chemotherapy. I also somewhat sensed that if I did get chemo, my bone marrow transplant would be killed off and I would be at the mercy of cancer. My theory was that my immune system was being suppressed by steroids for a long enough time the cancer came back, and what I needed was something to make it go into over drive...a cytokine storm. Those have their own problems truly, but they can help. This method, or madness depending who you asked, would either cure or kill me. I knew that.

I did research and knew that the Spanish Flu caused a cytokine storm and so started scouting out graves that said died of the Spanish Flu. My plan was to infect myself and disappear for a couple weeks in the woods to prevent transmission to anyone else. I am an excellent woodswoman and can survive with almost nothing. It was the middle of winter and I had previously done so (not pregnant) in winter. Unfortunately, the authorities were alerted to a possible "terrorist threat" and took all of the Spanish Flu graves locally and locked them in concrete. My friend was high up on the chain of command and thought my idea was insane and so "told"...There was no terrorist threat. It was a woman seeking a cure for cancer in the most curious way.

So I was left trying to catch whatever I could and hoped it would incite my immune system to rally just enough to survive. I told my hypothesis to a woman that was...how do I put this...in a position to acquire rare and unique things or have them made in a lab. She thought my hypothesis had some sound logic behind it and agreed to acquire me a virus that was NOT as deadly as the Spanish Flu, but that might do the job. I was purposely infected with the virus while heavily pregnant and with serious leukemia. I did so willingly.

Over the next 3 months I went from able to walk, to unable to stand to go to the bath room, and then so bad as to be awake just one hour a day, unable to lift my head to drink. I well and truly tasted death. My current husband was the only one there to care for me from day to day. My job fired me. My friends abandoned me. No one except that woman and my husband understood or respected my decision. It was an odd thing, to have people demand you take specific medicine when you don't feel it is the correct course of action. Even my fiancé lost all hope with me and for the most part never really spoke to me again. My fevers raged and I am certain they caused some brain damage as I not as well as I was before at handling things.

But gradually I got better. When I delivered my child in another state the attending OB wanted to talk to my previous doctor (whom I never contacted again after pushing me into psycho therapy for refusing chemo). They told him they thought I died. That I had cancer and the flu last they knew due to hospital records. He asked me about it and did a simple blood test, paid for by the previous OB, to see if I still had cancer. It was gone. Nurses cried. Doctors stood amazed. When I told them my story, they could scarcely believe it even though they had my records and the test they themselves took.

God lead me to know a virus would save me...so all glory to God. That is how a 23 year old high school drop out could know so much about the immune system and cancer...God only. God put me in touch with the right people to get the virus I needed so I would not die. No one believes me now...that was almost 2 decades ago.

[–] 3 pts

that's a wild story, thanks for sharing.

[–] 2 pts

My fevers raged and I am certain they caused some brain damage as I not as well as I was before at handling things.

Look in to micro-dosing psilocybin (magic mushrooms). They repair neuronal damage if you take a strict regiment. Four days on, three days off, for a couple months. I scrambled my brain with booze and marijuana in my teens, to the point that my IQ literally dropped. Now my brain is sharper than ever.

[–] 1 pt

And I bet the visuals are way cool

[–] 1 pt

Not when you're micro-dosing, unless you accidentally did too much. The whole point is to not notice it. That being said, dreams get cooler and more elaborate.

[–] 1 pt

What dosage?

[–] 2 pts

I forget what they suggest by weight, but a good ballpark is start with 0.1 gram, and adjust accordingly until you're just below the threshold of any hallucinogenic effects. I take 0.2g. Anything over 0.3 and I just get real sleepy and feel like sitting around playing guitar all day. :p

[–] 0 pt

I will...thank you for the suggestion.

[–] 2 pts

Fascinating story...you should write a book

[–] 0 pt

Your fiancé? Also your husband? Wtf? Heavily pregnant going to the woods alone?

[–] 0 pt (edited )

My current husband was not my husband then. He was just a friend that stuck by me once he learned I had cancer and that my fiancé had abandoned me already. So he said, "Fine I will take care of her then." It was years later we got married...after the cancer was determined to be gone. He raised my children from the previous relationship also. He promised he would raise them should I die. He moved me to his family home so that he could do that in the event I died, which is why I gave birth in another state. Before the cancer diagnosis, I assumed I would be getting married to someone else. It seems that when you are marked for death, you find out people's true colors. I will admit, my fiancé DID try to help me in the only way he knew how, which was to offer to pay for the very best cancer treatment on earth. When I refused, he assumed I had resigned myself to death and moved on. He just couldn't see things the way I could. Either that or he couldn't watch me die...which is understandable.

I had plenty of experience in the woods by myself and giving birth. I mistakenly thought it would be easy to handle being in the woods alone while pregnant with cancer. I under estimated how badly cancer knocks you down. It was a plan that I never carried out for various reasons. I still to this day believe if it were JUST being pregnant and alone in the woods in winter, I could manage. However, I know now, that with cancer, it was a sure death. I would have never been able to keep myself hydrated or clean enough to keep from sepsis.

Did you take treatments while pregnant?

High blood pressure, depression, and 'chronic fatigue.' Doctors just threw scripts at me with barely speaking to me. I stopped going once I found out in AZ that I can order my own bloodwork. I was 'too young' for XYZ according to the doctors and they would not test for things like thyroid issues.

I ordered my own bloodwork. My thyroid was practically not functioning. I also tested for thyroid antibodies. I have late stage Hashimoto's thyroiditis. If they had been willing to do the tests when I asked back in my early 20s I would have been so much better off.

The damage is too far along. My ultrasound has my thyroid looking like a sponge (I found a naturepath willing to order that for me). BUT I take dessicated thyroid, 1mg flushing niacin, 4.5mg naltrexone, vitamins A, D, K, and others as needed. All done based on bloodwork I have done regularly.

I changed my diet to get rid of inflammatory foods. My blood pressure has become normal. My depression is gone. My cholesterol is normal even though I am on a high fat diet. I have more energy than I have had in decades.

The doctors do not want to look at root causes. They only throw scripts at the symptoms.

BTW my symptoms all started shortly after some really bad reactions to 'required' vaccines when I was 17 and got a college scholarship. It was such a joy dealing with college with rheumatoid arthritis in every joint on top of the fatigue.

Looking back, I have no idea how I did it and kept my academic scholarship while taking care of a house and husband. If they had discovered the thyroid issue then, at least I wouldn't have so much damage and I could have managed the symptoms. Being told I was a hypochondriac was insane. A simple, cheap bloodtest that I asked for over and over would have pointed in the right direction.

[–] 3 pts

I got my thyroid checked - normal. Went back to the doctor 6 months later, "Let's check your thyroid again."

ok...

Went to the facility to get my blood drawn and all the Karens at the counter lost their shit that I wasn't wearing a mask. Never got my blood checked. Fuck the Rockefeller Medical Industrial Complex.

[–] 2 pts

Quest Labs and the post office are the places I wear my handkerchief. I hate it. But I need my mail (which they don't like to deliver to my apartment) and I need my bloodwork so I can adjust my meds myself. So far they haven't insisted on a real mask.

[–] 0 pt

Those must have been some really shitty doctors!

[–] 0 pt

naltrexone

Why would you need an opioid blocker for a shitty thyroid?

[–] 0 pt

At low doses it actually suppresses immune responses. My body is killing my thyroid (along with other organs) via wacky immune responses. It reduces a lot of my strange allergic reactions to all kinds of things. I never knew day to day what would trigger hives. Taking a low dose of naltrexone has reduced my thyroid antibody levels and my pancreatic functions have increased. I'm guessing I was also eating up my pancreas.

There are a ton of off label uses for it for autoimmune issues. It's even made some people with autism better.

[–] 0 pt

My thyroid is 7cm long on one side and 5 on the other. But it functions fine. I was told to just get it cut out and take a pill for the rest of my life. Haven't been back to that doctor.

The majority of them Google your symptoms and then prescribe something. That same majority will not take a chance on anything alternative. It's rare to find one who even studies their specialty after school is over.

Good on you for figuring out your own situation. If I could find a way to naturally shrink a goiter, I'd be all over it.

I had very painful sciatica from a dock building accident. A physical therapist I knew gave me a magnet to wear on my belt. It stopped hurting in a half hour. I wore the magnet for two weeks and my sciatica never hurt again!

[–] 1 pt

What kind of magnet?

[–] 1 pt

Good question. Not all magnets are the same. It was 1/8th of an inch thick and about 6"x4". It was a specific magnet that physical therapists use. She told me it cost $100 and that was in 1996. Whatever it cost it was worth it.

Wtf?

[–] 4 pts

Late stage emphysema, decided to no longer go to the doctors. Started using NAC and Vitamin C with a paleo diet. And like magic, the disease went away. Not on paper, but energy levels are up, and I've lost so much weight my body can do many things my doctor was surprised by. He went on to tell me he could no longer help me, and had no idea what the disease would do later on

I had a sciatic nerve problem where I would get stabbing pain in my legs and butt. The pain was so excruciating when trying to sit down that sometimes it would bring tears to my eyes. It would start as a lower back pain which was easily bearable but after a hard days work it would get really bad and turn into a jabbing nerve pain as I described. Ended up seeing a back specialist and had all the scans done. I was told I had Ankylosing Spondylitis and that I would never be healed. In the end I solved the problem myself. I did a soccer type kick, twisting my body in a quick motion. At this point my lower back made a huge popping sound and the nerve pain never came back and that was 15 years ago. What was happening was my sacroiliac joint was being compressed by the ligaments around it and making it look like I had arthritis because the space between the bones was closer than normal when in fact the material was still there, it was just compressed. Fucking back specialist first got mad then apologized after he took another X-ray.

I had stomach ulcers because of some shitty medication I was prescribed - then almost bled to death because of it. I was also on a blood thinner. I was eating antacid like crazy.

I started making my own kefir and it coated my stomach which allowed it to heal. Now I rarely ever need antacids and have removed all these drugs from my life.

[–] 0 pt

Details on this kefir?

This is the method I used. You can also buy it made from the store but I don’t know if that is as beneficial. You can order grains online or maybe find them locally. They last for many uses so you will only need to get them once. https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a92174/how-to-make-milk-kefir/

I used to break bones a lot. I was over a dozen breaks by the time I was 6. Doctors told me to never play contact sports because I would not be able to walk by the time I was 12. They told me I had osteoporosis.

I didn't listen to them, played all of the contact sports and broke many a bone. About 20 years ago I tried coral calcium. I started getting tired, a lot. My bones were growing and I put on about 10 lbs of bone weight (I was about 20 and never weighed more than 130 lbs). My muscles weren't used to that weight, so my muscles got bigger too and I put on 20 lbs or so. I haven't broken a bone since and now the lowest weight I can maintain is 165.

[–] 1 pt

What sort of dosage did you use?

[–] 0 pt

I think it said take 2 pills per day, I took 6.

An important distinction to be made is that the pills were balanced with magnesium so I didn't get constipated.

[–] 1 pt

You need Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin D3, and Vitamin K2 all taken together in conjunction for best results.

Did you pick up any height? Or just bone density?

I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hand, my thumb actually, and was told I would have it for life and there is no cure.

I didn't believe that doctor at all and went on with my life. It went away about 6 months later.

I didn't actively do anything to treat it other than believe it would go away.

Mind over matter has some practical effects that never ceases to amaze me.
